Tips & tricks

We want you to be 100% satisfied with your Stoveblock. Here are a few simple tips & tricks to help you get the most out of your product.

Shield not standing upright

To allow the shield to slide in and out of the holder smoothly, a small amount of play is intentionally built in. If the shield isn’t standing perfectly upright, attach the sticker (included with your order) to the underside of the shield. This creates a tighter fit in the holder, keeping the shield firmly in place and properly upright.

Another possibility is that the tape underneath the base has not been applied properly, causing the vertical force of the shield to rest on air. In that case, replace the tape with the spare tape included in your order.

Tip: For improved stability, we also recommend applying a small amount of silicone sealant around the base.

How do I remove light scratches and dull spots from my shield?

Important: Never use abrasive sponges or aggressive cleaning agents on the shield. Light scratches and dull spots can often be reduced yourself using the methods below.

Method 1: Hair dryer

Heat can help the surface recover

  1. Clean and dry the panel
  2. Use a hair dryer on a low to medium setting
  3. Keep a distance of ±15–20 cm (6–8 inches)
  4. Keep the dryer moving continuously (do not hold it in one spot)
  5. Let it cool down and check the result

⚠️ Important: Do not use too much heat to avoid warping or uneven gloss, and use oven gloves or heat-resistant gloves to protect your hands.

Method 2: Plastic polish

  1. Clean the panel with water and a microfiber cloth
  2. Apply a small amount of plastic polish (for polycarbonate)
  3. Gently rub in circular motions using a microfiber cloth
  4. Wipe off any residue with a clean cloth

Removing the stoveblock base

Protect your kitchen worktop by first sliding a plastic card underneath the base. Then use a dull butter knife (or another blunt tool) to slowly and gently lift the base, working your way around it step by step. Once removed, use a hairdryer to warm any remaining adhesive. Gently rub the residue away with a plastic card or your fingernails. Finish by cleaning the area with warm water and mild soap.

Repeat the process if needed until the surface is completely clean.
